A business seminar entitled "Hong Kong: Helping Manage Opportunities and Challenges in China" will take place in Sofia on 15 March 2010 and in Bucharest on 19 March 2010. The events are organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels, with the support of Invest Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Film Panorama is being held at the Spanish Film Archive until 15 March inclusive. This is the third time that the HKETO, Brussels is bringing some of the most recent HK productions to Madrid, in collaboration with its co-organiser, Casa Asia. Speaking at a reception on 26 March, Deputy Representative for Hong Kong Economic and Trade Affairs to the EU, Ms Hinny Lam, noted that a film supported by Hong Kong's Film Development Fund (Echoes of the Rainbow, by Alex Law) had just won the Crystal Bear for Best Film at the Berlinale 2010. The Financial Secretary, Mr John Tsang, presented his 2010-2011 Budget to the Legislative Council on Wednesday 24 February. He proposed a series of measures to build on Hong Kong's economic recovery from the global financial crisis. Mr Tsang also unveiled initiatives to stabilise the property market, develop six priority industries and foster a caring society. He expected a GDP growth of 4 to 5% in 2010. More info. The Hong Kong Film Panorama, the film festival that tours Europe every year at the initiative of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Brussels, will be held in Athens for the first time in February. After Lisbon last October, this is the second new city on the Panorama's European itinerary this season.
