Hong Kong and French Customs strengthen co-operation
Hong Kong Customs signed a revised Customs Co-operative Arrangement with the French Customs and Excise Administration in Paris on 14 October 2008.
With the signing of this revised Co-operative Arrangement, both parties are committed to co-operating more closely in areas including law enforcement against smuggling and drug trafficking and the protection of intellectual property rights through arrangements of mutual administrative assistance. The previous Co-operative Arrangement was signed in 1996.
Hong Kong Customs, so far, has signed Customs Co-operative Arrangements with 14 Customs Administrations, including the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China and 13 overseas Customs Administrations.
