Chief Executive delivers 2017 Policy Address - 18 January 2017Hong Kong's Chief Executive, Mr CY Leung, delivered his 2017 Policy Address to the Legislative Council on 18 January, his fifth and final policy address before the election of a new chief executive on 26 March. He outlined a wide range of initiatives covering the economy, technology, housing and education. More.
New Chief Secretary and new Financial Secretary appointed - 16 January 2017Matthew Cheung and Paul Chan have been appointed Hong Kong's new Chief Secretary for Administration and Financial Secretary respectively, after the Central Government approved the resignations of Carrie Lam and John Tsang, Chief Executive CY Leung announced on 16 January. Ms Lam and Mr Tsang stepped down to launch their campaigns as candidates in the election of Hong Kong's new chief executive on 26 March 2017, in which they will face two other contenders, Judge Woo Kwok-hing and legislator Ms Regina Ip.

Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development to visit Ireland in first week of December 2016Hong Kong's Secretary for Commerce & Economic Development, Mr Gregory So, will visit Switzerland and Ireland on 3-7 December. He will attend the Environmental Goods Agreement Ministerial Meeting in Geneva. Hong Kong is among the WTO members participating in the negotiation for the agreement, which aims to eliminate tariffs on a wide range of environmental goods. Mr So will then proceed to Dublin where he will meet with Irish government officials, representatives of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce and the city's Hong Kong community.

Hong Kong Film festival in Thessaloniki - 25-28 September 2016After the success of last year's Hong Kong Martial Arts Film programme in Thessaloniki, HKETO, Brussels is cooperating with the Thessaloniki International Film Festival once again to bring Hong Kong films to Greece's biggest second city. A Taste of Hong Kong in Brussels - 16-17-18 September 2016So you think there's nothing in common between Brussels and Hong Kong? Think again. Hong Kong Arts Centre and Les Halles de Schaerbeek have curated a creative project in which ten artists from each city have worked in pairs: choreographers, dancers, video and film makers, visual artists, actors... They will present ten short pieces, and in between each, there will be gastronomic intermissions by chef George Tang. More info.
5th International Dublin Dragon Boat Regatta - 10-11 Sept 2016The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels is delighted to be a sponsor of the International Dublin Dragon Boat Regatta this year for the first time.
