Hong Kong and French Customs strengthen co-operation

Hong Kong Customs signed a revised Customs Co-operative Arrangement with the French Customs and Excise Administration in Paris on 14 October 2008. Both parties are committed to co-operating more closely in areas including law enforcement against smuggling and drug trafficking and the protection of intellectual property rights through arrangements of mutual administrative assistance. The previous Co-operative Arrangement was signed in 1996.  The Commissioner of Hong Kong Customs and Excise, Mr Richard Yuen, and the Director-General of the French Customs and Excise Administration, Mr Jérôme Fournel, represented their respective Administrations at the signing ceremony.
